Voluntary Academisation
5th June 2026 - update
Following a period of consultation, we wish to inform you that the current process of voluntary academisation with Matrix Academy Trust will not proceed further.
This position reflects the outcome of discussions between both parties. As outlined in correspondence from Matrix Academy Trust, their Board of Trustees has taken the decision to withdraw from the current conversion process, citing the need for a clearer shared understanding and alignment before entering the next formal stage of due diligence. They noted that, while there has been positive engagement, there remained differences in expectations regarding the level of assurance required to proceed and the clarity of the process at that stage.
We recognise and respect the Trust’s decision, and we are grateful for the constructive dialogue that has taken place over recent months. Throughout this process, our priority has been to ensure that any future partnership is built on strong mutual understanding, transparency, and a shared commitment to achieving the very best outcomes for our pupils.
School leaders and governors continue to believe that academisation is an important step in securing the long-term future of Uffculme School and enhancing the provision for our pupils. We are therefore actively continuing to explore and seek the right partner or partnership that aligns fully with our values, ethos, and aspirations.
