West Moseley Traffic Reduction Scheme - CANCELLED

As part of the Birmingham Transport Plan, the city council aims to reduce traffic in residential areas so that it is nicer to be outside and safer for people to walk, wheel and cycle.

We have received notification that this has now been stopped. Thanks to everyone for your support :)

Thank you for your interest in the West Moseley Traffic Reduction Scheme proposal (https://www.birminghambeheard.org.uk/bcc/westmoseleytrs).

As of today (Wednesday 19th February) this consultation has received over 1500 responses. It is clear from these that the West Moseley Traffic Reduction Scheme proposal is not sufficiently supported by the local community.

In response, the Council has taken the decision to end this consultation and will not proceed with the trial.

To reduce the amount of traffic travelling through this area and the issues associated with this, it is proposed:

  • A trial point closure (to be implemented through an Experimental Traffic Regulation Order, or ETRO) of Moor Green Lane north of its junction with Shutlock Lane, with access for walking, wheeling and cycling.

Please take this opportunity to share your views. This is a route that is regularly taken by student transport. Changing the routes will likely lengthen the travel time for your child/young person.

We have raised that Uffculme secondary site, is not covered within the blue lines.
